The Malaghan Institute of Medical Research (MIMR) is New Zealand’s leading independent biomedical research institute, with a focus on breakthrough discoveries in immunology and immunotherapy. We have around 100 staff committed to finding cures for diseases using the body’s own immune system.
We need a passionate and experienced Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join our hardworking and talented Cancer Immunotherapy team.
As our new Research Fellow, you will be involved in the design and testing of new chimeric antigen receptors (CAR)s for T cell cancer therapy. The project will involve preparing CAR T-cells with new designs aimed at improving activity against solid tumours in combination with chemotherapy. Our successful applicant will take responsibility for in vitro and in vivo proof of principle studies.
A strong background in immunology is crucial to this role, and experience in molecular biology is highly desirable. To succeed in this position you will be highly organised, incredibly driven and have adaptable mindset. Working within a high-functioning and friendly group, a commitment to a team-oriented workplace is an absolute must.
This is a full-time, 2-year fixed term position.
