The Malaghan Institute of Medical Research is New Zealand’s leading independent health research organisation, with around 100 staff dedicated to finding cures for diseases using the body’s own immune system.The mission of our Development Team is to raise awareness of and provide financial support for the goals and objectives of the Institute, and to develop the interface with private and public sources of philanthropy. Our Development Team establishes and implements a wide range of development policies and procedures for individual donors, grant providers, corporates, contributing members, support groups, affiliates and others (Friends, Trustees, Staff and Alumni).
Due to an internal promotion we are looking for an efficient Fundraising Administrator to join this team on a permanent full-time basis, to provide excellent supporter care and effective administration of donations. Working closely with our Development Administration, this role focuses on our fundraising database and supporting the growth of Malaghan’s fundraising outcomes.
To be successful in this role, you will have exceptional administration skills: be proactive, organised and able to prioritise. We’re looking for someone who demonstrates speed and efficiency in their work, without sacrificing accuracy and quality. Preferably you will have proven success in data handling and segmentation, a core part of the position. Experience in a fundraising database system is preferred (IMIS or Raisers Edge preferable and Microsoft Office suite.
Our ideal candidate will be personable, and able to easily fit into the Malaghan family. Working with our generous supporters, you will have no problems building and maintaining effective relationships, and will have great verbal and written communication skills.
Familiarity in a fundraising environment will be beneficial, but is not essential.
